Caramel Starfish 2006

Ok Caramel Starfish Friday, as it's only six mile up the road I chucked the tents, seats, cooker and kitchen sink in iccleuki (AKA the container) and headed for Fetternear.
Snake had been on the phone earlier and had set up in the usual spot, Matty and Ange arrived not long after me so with tents erected I set off back to hoorie for biguki and with Mandy planted on the back we headed back to what is usually a weekend to remember.

We started off with a few beers and the Dr and Sir Jack soon came out to play. The rest of the crew drifted in and after a natter and catch up we headed for the hall.
Chris had set up his stall ( www.Sniff-Incense.co.uk ) so after signing in and an exchange of banter with the Starfish crew I went round to see the goods on offer, loads o Stinky stuff if you are into stinking nice !

Off to the bar and the crew had found a table, Mandy got the "kitty" going and the drinks were coming at a steady pace. On one of my wanders I bumped in to Trish, now having been round at Trish and Wombles during the week Trish spotted a "Plook" on ma heed and was gonna remove it, "Nah nah leave ma plook woman" Now it's a bit unfair cos this time I was pished and defencless and with one fell swoop of her tallons the said plook was gone, ( never met anyone with a plook fetish before !) by the time you get round every one you havn't seen for a while and exchanged a drink or two you forget how much you have had and the brain begins to work faster than yer gob, some might say that's not a bad thing in my case, back to the crew and the infamos Turbo Vimto was on the go and this is when it starts to go a wee bit fuzzy.............

Easily Led took to the stage and with a bit of a jig and, I've been told, the ocasional GRRRRRRRRRRR the rest of Friday is history........??? Think it may have been about 2, 3 or 4 we left the hall laden with jumpers, jackets, a handbag and a camera (all left at our table, and I thought I was bad !) Fell into the sleeping bag and never heard a thing till 10:30 Saturday.

Saturday;

Emerged oot o the tint to find a glorious summer morning, the sun beating down, birds singing and the hint of flowers in the air………
Well dull damp and dreich might be closer to fact. Got the kettle on and it was not long before Snake was on the go with the bacon baps, now I don’t know if it was the smell of boiling water or the noise we were making but the F3 village slowly came to life. Nige had left early as he was working. After coffee and bacon rolls (and more coffee) every one was talking about the rain during the night, I had no idea as I slept through it all but seemingly it was pretty bad. Half the crew were heading into hoorie to watch the fitba but know one was fit to drive, so a taxi was duly ordered, for those of us that were left it was a difficult decision try and sober up or top-up.

The “Boxing” was to start around 14:00 so we wandered down to see what it was all about. Moira did a fly-by with little Snake and he quite enjoyed watching his Da putting me on ma arse, (I took a dive to keep the wee man happy!!) Snake (the fat fuck) burst one of the inflatable rings we were standing on so it was duly gaffa taped and it was not long before the other one went as well.

After a few Jacks we headed back to the tents when Snake started thinking about chicken,that was it he had the rest of us thinking about chicken as well and after about fifteen minutes of every on going “chicken chicken chicken “Ange got fed up and volunteered Maty to take her into KFC for the boys (cheers Ange much appreciated)

The sun began to appear along with Nige and the “CHICKEN” It was not long after that I heard the tones of the Hooernet, “Snake get a beer oot Fat Boabs cummin.”

A few beers later we headed back to the hall, no band to-night as they had pulled out the week before and Womble had tried all in his power to get another but to no avail. Walter from the Gobshites did a sterling job with the disco for the first half of the evening, wee John got gaffa taped to a table and did the milk tray thing diving in and oot o windes. Raffle and trophy time and the pink leather Harley poodle outfit was picked up by Mandy but it didna fit so L8 (best gay accessory) and Nodge took it back for the cat (photo on B1) Brian (S&S) picked up best classic and F3 picked up best club turnout.

Thanks to all the clubs that we have had the pleasure of partying with at this rally and others throughout the season.

Starfish Crew what can I say…………..
You surpassed expectations once again great weekend and the above will not do this Rally justice but for some strange reason it’s all I can remember

We’ll be back in 2007

Big Bri.
