Reckless Few M.C.C. 2005

I really don't know what it is about our club, but something usually delays our departure for a rally... this time, me an' Chris are waiting for Big Daddy (Barney) Bri, when I gets bored and tries to phone him... just as he phoned me! Conversation went kinda like this:

"'ave been knocked aff the bike!", "Where are ye?", "Mounthooly roundabout.", "We'll be doon.", "Na, na its alright...", "WE'LL BE DOON!".

Bri was on his feet, and the damage to the bike mostly superfiscial, except for the side plate of his givi wingrack. The cast has cracked so that might have tae be new bits.

The drivers face was a picture when we arrived... especially when Chris took off his lid, walked up tae Brian and sayz "You alreet?" (Sorry cannie type geordie). Chris bless his cotton socks is a big lad, and to the general citizens he's prolly quite intimidating, me I thought the drivers reaction was priceless, mainly because it wisnae the drivers fault! It wiz his passenger that opened the door and wiped oot Bri on the way past! Ah Well, like I said, ther's usually something that fucks us up on the way tae a rally!

Friday tea time, all but 3 of F3 decend upon the seaside village of sandhaven in roar of highly tuned motors with the sun glinting off of highly polished chrome and the smell of adrenalin thick in the air.... or all but 3 of F3 ride slowly into Sandhaven, park up bikes, stand in the rain, eventually put up tents, and retire to the bar where the overhead flourecent light glistened off of me, Chris and Davie's heads, and the smell of wet leather pungent in the air. I know which sentence is true of the above... can you guess?

A few beers in the pub settled everybody into the usual Friday mood, with the biggest problem seeming to be a lack of people! Maybe the weather putting people off but there only seemed to be about half the people there on the friday night that there had been last year.

Don't know who the band were on Friday night, can't tell you too much about them, mainly coz me an' Mandy found a Masonic Lodge that let us in tae drink - we procedded to take the piss outta a certain Glasgow Football Club with fairly strong associations with the lodge! The barman kept serving anyway!

Way too many Guinnesses and Rum's for me own good! As is becoming the norm, the early hours of Friday were spent sitting on the seawall sorting out the world with the unenviable help of Mr Black and White to all arguments - SAMBUCA! As you might expect, I paid a high price for this moral high ground on Saturday morning.

Good fortune came along on Saturday morning in that it wasn't a sunny day (thank f*ck). A wonder to the burger van was about the best I could manage the whole day... had a few drinks in the afternoon with our host for the weekend (Reckless Few M.C.C), then retired until it was time for the evening entertainment! (I guess I am getting a) old and b) nope... just old). By the time I made it back to the hall, it was... empty! It didn't look like anyone wanted to come out to play this weekend, but luckily by about 9:30, people started to arrive.

The Band on Saturday night were called er, em, dunno. Their sound was awful and it was only thanks to the intervention of an Aussie dude who had done a bit of sound engineering that saved the bands bacon... didn't get your name but thanks from all of us at F3, and I suspect the whole rally!

The rally prizes brought a suprise... most of the winners we're still in the pub beside the camp site! Except for one prize.... Best Club Turnout - F3 Rally Club.... we call him Fred!

The raffle that goes along side the prize givings, I usually think of as a few less beers, but in this case, the club had won 3 raffle prizes before the big one... a voucher to have a leather suit made up to the value of £400... and bless his heart, Big Barney Brian won that too!

The rest of the evening is a bit blurred, but we were all in fine fettle the next morning (eh Mandy?) and headed off home after our best rally as a club yet!

Thanks to all at Reckless Few M.C.C. for making us feel welcome and throwing a great party.

There are more piccies and words tae come in so please stand by for part 2! Big Bri's words are here!
